Accessibility

This is a statement of what has been measured, not a claim of conformance. No independent accessibility audit has been carried out on this site, there is no VPAT, and no WCAG conformance level is being claimed. If a supplier questionnaire needs one of those, the honest answer today is that it does not exist yet.

What is below was measured with a browser on the home page, the contact page, the partners page and the FAQ page. Where something is known to be wrong it is written down in section 3 rather than left out.

Structure

• Every page declares its language on the html element.
• A skip link is the first thing in the tab order on every page.
• Every page has exactly one h1 and no skipped heading levels, so the outline can be used to navigate.
• Main, navigation and footer are marked up as landmarks.
• Every image carries an alt attribute.

Interaction

• Focus styles are defined with focus-visible, so keyboard focus is visible without a mouse click drawing an outline.
• Menus, accordions and tabs carry aria-expanded and aria-controls, so a screen reader is told whether a disclosure is open.
• Form fields on the contact form are associated with labels.

Motion

• Every animation is inside a prefers-reduced-motion guard. With that setting on, scroll reveals do not run and content is present on load rather than revealed.
• Background video and the image carousel are muted and carry no audio.

These are open defects, measured on the deployed site. They are listed here because a statement that hides them is worth less than no statement.

• No banner landmark. The site header is not marked up with a header element, so a screen reader user cannot jump to it as a landmark. Present on every page.
• Two links per page have no accessible name. They are announced by their destination rather than by their purpose. Present on every page measured.
• One field on the contact page has no associated label. The rest of that form is labelled.
• Colour contrast has not been measured across every preset. The theme ships several colour presets and only the default has been looked at.
• No testing with assistive technology. Nothing here has been checked with a screen reader by someone who uses one daily. Automated measurement finds a minority of real barriers, and we are not going to imply otherwise.

Write to hello@studionope.com. What helps most is the page address, what you were trying to do, and what happened instead. If you use assistive technology, naming it and its version helps, but it is not required and its absence will not slow anything down.

We have not set a published response time for accessibility reports, so this page does not quote one. What we will do is reply, and tell you whether it is going to be fixed and roughly when.

This statement covers this website. A site you build with the theme is yours, and its accessibility depends on your content as much as on the templates: the alt text you write, the reading order you choose, the contrast of the palette you pick, and the link text you type.

What the theme gives you to work with is in section 2 above, and it is the same code that runs this site. What it cannot do for you is write a good alt attribute.
