Careers

Build a career, not just a CV.

We hire engineers, trades, designers, and managers who want to leave a site better than they found it. If that's you, we'd like to meet.

Why Meridian

Six reasons people stay.

Average tenure across the firm is 8.4 years. Half our partners started as graduates or trades on a Meridian site. There are reasons.

  • You'll own real work

From your first month, you carry a piece of the project. Not coffee runs, not shadow assignments — work the team needs you to deliver.

  • We invest in your craft

Average £4,200 per person per year on training, certifications, and conferences. Plus paid time to study for chartership.

  • Promotion from within

Eight of our 14 partners came up through Meridian. We post every senior role internally first, and we mean it.

  • Real safety culture

0.41 TRIR. Stop-work authority for everyone on site. No bonus structure rewards a manager for shipping unsafe work.

  • Family-grade benefits

Enhanced parental leave (26 weeks fully paid for any parent), private health, mental-health support, and a 7% pension match.

  • Hybrid where it makes sense

Site roles are site roles. Studio-based teams average 3 days in, 2 days remote — set per team, not by HR diktat.

Life here

A site is a classroom
with real consequences.

Our graduates are on a live jobsite by month three. Apprentices rotate across self-perform crews and supervisor shadowing. Senior staff still spend a week a quarter on site — because the practice doesn't get sharper from a desk.

Candidate FAQ

Questions before you apply

  • What does the interview process look like?

Three stages: a 30-minute screen with talent, a 90-minute technical interview with the hiring team, and a half-day on a live site or in our studio with the team you'd join. Every candidate gets feedback within five business days, regardless of outcome.

  • Do you sponsor visas?

Yes. We hold UK Skilled Worker, Tier 2 ICT, and equivalent permits in the EU and US. Sponsorship is offered when the role and the candidate justify it — we don't pre-screen on nationality.

  • Can I apply if I don't tick every box on the JD?

Yes — and we'd rather you did. The job description is a description, not a contract. If you're 60% there and curious, send the application.

  • What about apprenticeships?

We run rolling intakes twice a year (March and September) across carpentry, formwork, MEP, and project-coordinator routes. Applications open three months before each intake.

  • Do you do graduate schemes?

Yes — engineering, construction management, and quantity surveying tracks. Two-year structured programme, four six-month rotations, with chartership support included. Applications open every autumn for the following September start.
