How modular framing cut six weeks off our latest mid-rise build
1 min read
When the team broke ground on Westmount Avenue last spring, we set ourselves an unusual target: deliver the structural shell six weeks ahead of a comparable stick-built project. Here is how modular framing got us there.
Choosing a modular partner
We evaluated four prefabricators on tolerances, freight logistics, and on-site crane sequencing. The winner was the team that gave us the most honest answers about what could go wrong, not the team with the glossiest deck.
Tolerances matter
The hardest lesson was that 6mm of accumulated tolerance per floor compounds quickly. We rebuilt our QA process around laser scans of every level before the next module landed.
